The new update to AudioNodes is now out, containing some important performance fixes, some quality-of-life improvements, and a large haul of new experimental Nodes to try.
Priority Fixes
- Fixed a set of performance issues, where projects with a large number of Nodes (including Nodes in subpatches and custom Nodes) would cause UI lag
- Fixed another performance issue where pasting a large number of Nodes with connections (including large subpatches or custom Nodes) would cause the UI to freeze for a brief duration
Experimental Custom Samplers
This update introduces a set of new experimental Nodes to build custom samplers (which you can optionally pack into custom Nodes).
The new Nodes enable a variety of audio file playback, including simple linear forward/reverse playback, loop, granular synthesis, and even cool forms of wavetable synthesis with sample files.
The following Nodes are new in this update:
These Nodes will probably go through more changes before being considered stable.
Option Signal Param Node
The new, experimental Option Signal Param Node enables you to create a customizable option select menu, and output the value of the currently selected option as a control signal.
Node Browser Changes
In the Node browser, you’ll find a new Node category called Params, with the following new and existing Nodes moved under it:
- ADSR Param Node
- Audio File Param Node
- Knob Node
- Option Signal Param Node
- Slider Param Node
- Wave Type Param Node
Misc Changes & Fixes
- Adding text to a custom Node is now possible
- Formant Filter Node has been deprecated (in favor of an upcoming custom Formant Filter Node, which you’ll be able find under More Nodes & Snippets)
- Fixed a bug where some snippets would show an empty background in their preview
